Millionaire Ken Jordan’s will proved in solemn form: Elliott v Simmonds [2016] EWHC 732 (Ch)

Edward Murray, sitting as a Deputy of the High Court, has handed down judgment in Elliott v Simmonds [2016] EWHC 732 (Ch) allowing the claim to prove the will of millionaire Ken Jordan in solemn form despite a challenge by what the tabloid press had dubbed his ‘secret’ daughter.  Although she did not seek to propound an alternative instrument, she required the will be proved amid allegations of incapacity and lack of knowledge and approval.  Zoë Barton appeared for the Executor who commenced proceedings to break the deadlock between various members of the testator’s family and his partner.
