Peter has extensive experience in acting in Corporate and Personal Insolvency; Banking Litigation; Mortgage Enforcement; and Company and Commercial Litigation. He has particular expertise in high value insolvency litigation; commercial litigation, usually fraud related; and shareholder disputes. He acts mainly in contentious matters and has a particular expertise in cases concerning directors’ misfeasance claims.

Paul has a busy chancery practice specialising in insolvency, commercial and company litigation. Paul has developed a strong reputation for his expertise in complex insolvency litigation including high-value insolvencies, directors’ misfeasance claims, antecedent transactions and cross-border insolvencies. He is ranked as a Leading Junior (Tier 5) for restructuring and insolvency in the Legal 500 (2024).
Paul has previously worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP as part of the knowledge management team in the restructuring and insolvency department, and was seconded to work with the restructuring and insolvency team at Fieldfisher LLP during his first year of practice.
Thomas Cockburn has a busy chancery practice, with a particular focus on Property; Contentious Probate; and Insolvency, both personal and corporate. He regularly appears in the Chancery Division of the High Court and in the County Court, as well as before more specialist tribunals such as the Property Chamber of the First Tier Tribunal.
Thomas is ranked as a ‘Rising Star’ in Insolvency by The Legal 500 (2024 Edition), in which clients have said that “Thomas has a very clear, concise and focused style of advocacy. He is also a very able written advocate who produces high quality skeleton arguments” and that he is “very focused and detailed with a good ability to absorb facts and get to the nub of the matter.”
Thomas was appointed to the Attorney General’s C Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown for a five-year term from September 2020, and acts in that capacity for a number of government departments and bodies including the Department for Business and Trade, HMRC and the Official Receiver.
Andrew Shipley is building a broad chancery and commercial practice and accepts instructions in all core areas of chambers’ practice, with particular focus on Insolvency, Commercial, Civil Fraud and Asset Recovery, and Trusts, Probate and Estates.
Prior to completing pupillage in 2020, Andrew was Judicial Assistant to the Rt Hon. Lord Justice David Richards, as he then was. In November 2024, Andrew will be hosted by MoloLamken LLP in New York as a Pegasus Scholar.
Andrew Brooke’s practice focuses on the core areas of chancery and commercial chancery law, especially company, insolvency, property, and trust law. In particular, Andrew enjoys the way in which the principles derived from these areas of the law interact with one another and with statutory regimes.
During his pupillage in 2021-2022, he was supervised by Peter Shaw KC, Martin Young, Rory Brown and Giselle McGowan.
