At 11:55 on Friday 22nd March 2024, Clifford Darton KC will be featuring on ConTrA’s discussion panel ‘How to win the unwinnable‘ alongside Mark Lindley, Elspeth Talbot Rice KC and James Sheedy, of Boodle Hatfield, XXIV Old Buildings and Collas Crill respectively.
Clifford will draw on his experience from Reeves v Drew & Ors [2022] EWHC 159 (ChD), where he set aside the will of a £100 million estate for want of knowledge and approval, and where the judgment quoted extensively from Clifford’s cross-examination of the principal witnesses. The dispute involved a three-week trial and the hearing of evidence from over fifty witnesses, and the trial was widely reported in most of the national papers.
