Overview

The Autumn Training Day this year is back at The Royal Society of Medicine, London and is in person only.

Registration will be at 08.30am for a 09.20am prompt start. Presentations will end at 4.30pm and be followed by networking drinks until 6pm.

At the end of the presentations, there will be networking and drinks, and it is hoped that members will see this as an excellent opportunity to meet up with your fellow property litigators across the Region.

2.10PM – 3.00PM: George Woodhead will be speaking on the topic “Untangling The Web: Islam v Islam [2024] EWHC 1082 (Ch): fraud in family portfolio disputes”.

George Woodhead

George is a Chancery barrister and a specialist in property, contested probate and trusts litigation.

He is appointed to the Attorney General’s B Panel of London junior counsel to the Crown and advises the Ministry of Justice, the Chief Land Registrar, the Bona Vacantia Division and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, amongst other emanations of the Government.

George is recommended for both Property Litigation and Private Client: Trusts and Probate in the current edition of the Legal 500 (2024, London), which say:

  • Pile v Pile [2022] 1 P. & C.R. 6whether service of a notice to quit a joint tenancy was a breach of trust.
  • Lohia v Lohia [2022] EWHC 2033 (Ch): rectification of deeds of trust (appeal).

George is committed to the education and progress of new barristers.  He is an advocacy tutor with Lincoln’s Inn and a pupil supervisor.  He is also a member of the Chancery Bar Association and the Property Bar Association.
