Ebun became a tenant at Selborne Chambers in October 2024, following the successful completion of her pupillage. She has since developed a busy and diverse practice spanning all of Chambers’ core areas, including commercial disputes, insolvency, and property. Whilst happy to be led, Ebun regularly appears as sole counsel in fast-track/intermediate-track, and small claims track cases. She also appears in the High Court and the Insolvency and Companies Court.

Ebun read Law at the University of Brighton, where she was awarded multiple academic prizes, including the Lexis Nexis Prize for Best Second Year Student. She then completed the prestigious Bachelor of Civil Law programme at the University of Oxford and was later called to the Bar by The Inner Temple.

Ebun provides seminars and has previously taught at the University of Bristol. She is also a member of the Attorney General’s Junior Junior Panel.

Ebun has acted as sole counsel in disputes involving contracts, sale of goods, consumer rights, fiduciary duties, and consumer credit litigation.

Examples of recent experience:

  • Successfully acted for a defendant property developer in a 1.5-day trial for a breach of contract claim brought by the purchaser.
  • Appeared successfully in the High Court for the claimant company to prevent the striking out of its claim.
  • Acting for a claimant estate agent in the recovery of its commission following the sale of property worth over £2 million.
  • Acted for a defendant mortgagor in a dispute related to an allegedly unfair credit relationship under s.140B of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and penalty clauses.
  • Acted for a claimant in the recovery of a deposit advanced for the provision of luxurious wedding services.
  • Successfully acted for a company in the recovery of a debt owed by its former client.

Ebun regularly acts in residential and commercial landlord and tenant disputes, including possession claims and disputes on service charges. She also has experience advising and acting for parties in disputes involving easements, restrictive covenants, adverse possession, nuisance, and trespass.

Examples of recent experience:

  • Successfully represented the claimant landlord in forfeiture proceedings.
  • Successfully defended a landlord’s entitlement to possession in an appeal brought by a vexatious tenant.
  • Successfully acted for landlords in section 8 and section 21 possession proceedings.
  • Successfully appeared for the claimant in a preliminary trial on the enforceability of an expert determination.
  • Acted as junior counsel in a five-day boundary dispute, which raised issues concerning nuisance and harassment.
  • Represented and advised professional and individual landlords on the merits of tenancy deposit protection claims.
