(2) Commercial.
(3) Insolvency.
Recent examples of Calum’s work include:
- Acting for a freehold owner of a block of 139 high-end flats (the ground rent collected from which forms part of an investment fund operated by Schroders Plc) in a case concerning: (1) the consequences of the freeholder forfeiting the headlease, and (2) the consequences of a winding-up order being made against the intermediate landlord and the liquidator subsequently disclaiming the headlease.
- Acting for various companies that have availed themselves of the Non-Domestic Rates (“NDR”) mitigation scheme (“the Scheme”) operated by Verity Commercial Services Limited (“Verity”), from claims brought against them for non-payment of NDR by local councils.
