It cannot have been easy for Romie Tager to launch his new set, Selborne Chambers, from scratch. Tager, formerly one of, if not the biggest earner at Hardwicke Building, finally made the break from the beleaguered set last summer to establish Selborne, a niche property and commercial chambers. He has been joined by a bunch of his former colleagues from Hardwicke, with additional muscle provided by lateral hires from 29 Bedford Row.
Adopting a strategy in complete contrast to that of his former home, Tager’s launch is believed to be only the third time in recent years that a chambers has been started from scratch, after Matrix and Ely Place Chambers.
