On 19 July 2017 Chief Registrar Baister made a disqualification order of 9 years against Bruce Roy Pilley, a director of TV Catchup Limited (TVC). Mr Pilley failed to disclose the existence of a Winding up Petition presented by HMRC to a lender before causing TVC to enter into a joint loan facility agreement and subsequently causing TVC to draw down £523,396, in breach of the terms and conditions of the agreement. Aldona O’Hara, Chief Investigator of Insolvent Investigations Midlands & West at the Insolvency Service, has said of the decision: “This disqualification is a reminder to others tempted to do the same that the Insolvency Service will rigorously pursue enforcement action to seek and remove from them the privilege of trading with limited liability to protect the public for a lengthy period.” A fuller discussion of the case can be found on the Insolvency Service Press Release, here.
