Arbitration
Julia regularly acts for both trustees and beneficiaries in family trusts and deals with trust shareholdings in corporate structures. Julia will often advise on breaches of directors’ fiduciary duties; conflicts between director and trustees and the rights of minority shareholders. She has experience of dealing with these issues in the Chancery and Family Division often representing third parties in matrimonial financial remedy proceedings.
Julia was: (i) Chairman of the Young Bar 2008; (ii) elected member of the Bar Council 2008-2013 including serving for 2 years on the executive General Management Committee; and (iii) Member of the Committee of the Chancery Bar Association 2010-2016.
Julia is also: (i) the co-author of Rossdale: Probate and Administration of Estates (5th Edition); (ii) a contributor to Gore-Brown on Companies; and (iii) eEditor of the Court of Protection Law Reports
Julia has led many committees during her time at the Bar and in particular a number of high level working parties as Chair of the Young Bar which included working with All Party Parliamentary Group of MPs on behalf of the Junior Bar. Julia is used to listening to arguments and making informed decisions in these roles.
Julia has extensive practical experience and in depth legal knowledge in the fields identified above. She has considerable experience of problem solving and managing the expectation of solicitors and lay clients alike as well as adopting a commercial and pragmatic approach to dispute resolution.
