Aloysius accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ practice areas. Since starting to practise in April 2026, his instructions have included appearing in the High Court and County Court, drafting pleadings and providing written advice. Highlights of his practising period include:

  • Success as sole counsel at a trial at Willesden County Court, which turned on a mortgagor losing the right to collect outstanding rent arrears once receivers were appointed.
  • Acting as sole counsel for a trial at Swindon County Court in a commercial dispute relating to a building contract. A reserved judgment is awaited.

Aloysius commenced pupillage at Selborne Chambers in October 2025. He is currently supervised by Sarah Walker. During his first six, he was supervised by Edward Bennion-Pedley and Henry Webb.

Before joining Selborne Chambers, Aloysius taught Equity & Trusts at City Law School and worked for Judge Bernd Hammermann at the EFTA Court in Luxembourg.

Before coming to the Bar, Aloysius completed a DPhil in early medieval history, supervised by Professor Sarah Foot.

Aloysius has completed instructions including:

  • Successfully acting as trial counsel for a former tenant, whose former landlord sought to recover substantial sums in respect of rent arrears, notwithstanding the appointment of receivers over the property.
  • Successfully acting as counsel for a landlord in possession proceedings brought under Grounds 8, 10 and 11, Schedule 2, Housing Act 1988.
  • Acting as counsel for a right-to-manage company in ongoing proceedings to recover service charge arrears.
  • Advising on the enforceability of rent review provisions in a commercial lease.
  • Drafting a claim against managing agents for wrongfully retained rents and for specific performance of an obligation to pay over tenants’ deposits.

Aloysius has completed instructions including:

  • Acting as counsel for the director of a company in winding-up proceedings.
  • Advising on the relationship between s. 311(1) Insolvency Act 1986 and legal professional privilege.

Aloysius has completed instructions including:

  • Acting as trial counsel for a subcontractor in a dispute relating to a construction contract. Judgment was reserved.
  • Acting as counsel for a pre-school in a dispute relating to fees and the publicly-funded childcare entitlement.
