This week the inaugural Pro Bono Recognition List was published. It is a new initiative which recognises barristers and solicitors who have dedicated 25 hours or more pro bono legal assistance in the previous calendar year. The list has been set up under the sponsorship of the Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee, with the support of the Law Society, Bar Council, and all major pro bono legal organisations.
Of the 476 barristers mentioned on the list, we were delighted to see that Jonathan McNae had been recognised for going above and beyond to provide pro bono assistance to those who would otherwise have to face the legal system alone. Congratulations!
Many of our members undertake pro bono work in connection with Advocate or CLIPS (Chancery Bar Litigant in Person Support Scheme) as well as providing reviewing services and more indirect support to such charities. In this regard, Chambers are proud to be a Bronze Circle Pro Bono Patron of Advocate and to support the London Legal Support Trust through participation in the London Legal Walk.
