How to Apply for Pupillage

General

Selborne Chambers is not a subscriber to Pupillage Portal, the Bar Council's online pupillage application system.

Applications for pupillage should be made by way of covering letter and curriculum vitae (including full examination results to date).  Please address any pupillage application to the Pupillage Secretary, with the envelope marked "Pupillage Application".  Applications can also be submitted by email to pupillage@selbornechambers.co.uk.

Interviews

The interview process for pupillage will consist of two rounds.  The first round will include questions on a legal problem in addition to general questions about the applicant.

Applicant selected for the second round of interviews will face a longer interview with a greater emphasis on their achievements and qualities.  If a candidate has not yet undertaken a mini-pupillage in Chambers prior to the second round interview, he or she may be invited to do so. Candidates who spend time in Chambers will have a far greater understanding of our practice areas and what Chambers is like; we believe that this is of great benefit to applicants.

Timetable

Applications for a pupillage commencing October 2013 will close on 17 February 2012 and are invited from Autumn 2011.
