The pupillage awards for the 2012/2013 season and beyond are currently under review, but will in any event exceed £42,500.00. Of this, at least £8,500.00 will comprise guaranteed second six earnings. This figure will not attract a contribution to Chambers' running expenses.
It is anticipated that earnings in the second six will be higher than the guaranteed figure; previous pupils have earned up to about £12,000.00 in their second six.
Up to £10,000.00 of the pupillage award may be drawn down during the Bar Professional Training Course ("BPTC") year.
In the unlikely event that the pupillage is determined, any sums advanced to the pupil during the BPTC year may be required to be repaid at the absolute discretion of Chambers.
