Steel J has handed down his decision in Paragon Mortgages Ltd v McEwan-Peters & Anr [2011] EWHC 2491 (Comm), a claim brought by Paragon Mortgages Ltd against a borrower and in connection with guarantee / indemnity agreements concerned with buy-to-let portfolio lending. The defence concerned estoppel and an attempt to invoke the Unfair Relationships jurisdiction under the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
