"Phishing" E-mail message purporting to be from Selborne BarristersWe are aware of a number of E-mail messages in circulation that, it is claimed, were sent by or on behalf an individual from Selborne Chambers. These messages are intended to give the impression that the receipient could be due to receive an amount of money that has either been won in a lottery or deposited by a deceased individual. In all such cases it is claimed that a barrister from Selborne Chambers is dealing with this matter. Selborne Chambers and its barristers are not in any way associated with the such E-mail messages and any variations that may be produced. Such messages, known as "phishing E-mails", are intended to solicit funds from whomever is the recipient by giving the impression it has originated from a trustworthy source and that the matter is legitimate. In this case you have been the recipient of such a message. You are in good position to prevent others from receiving and being taken in by such fraudulent practices. If you are UK resident and have received an e-mail which originates from these fraudsters, please forward it via e-mail to your local police force.
