A key factor in the success of Selborne Chambers is our clerks. They understand the vital importance of maintaining excellent relations both with our professional and lay clients and the courts in which we operate.
Our Senior Clerk is Greg Piner who is responsible for ensuring that the clerks' room delivers a modern and business-like service to our clients.
Greg has a wealth of experience and a comprehensive in-depth knowledge of each of our barrister's practices which enables him to choose precisely the one best matched to each individual client's needs. He takes a very active part in all aspects of chambers' life and also sits on all chambers' meetings.
Greg received special mention in the newly-published Chambers' Client Guide 2011 where commentators observed that he "is extremely helpful and makes access to advice a straightforward and quick process" . Greg is praised also as "a man you can have frank discussions with on fees".
Our approachable First Junior, Paul Bunting, also has extensive experience as a barrister's clerk from 1995 and has been with us since we opened our doors for business in June 2002. Paul has an excellent command of listing procedures and has a clear understanding of our barristers' practises in order to offer our clients a first class service.
Assisting Greg and Paul is Darren Madle, who is both involved in the clerking of members of chambers and responsible for fee account management. His experience of the professional and practical issues concerning counsel's fees is second to none. He should be first port of call on all issues arising on detailed assessment and any questions on VAT.
Our current junior clerks are James Clarke and Oliver Ventura, who will happily assist clients with all their clerking needs.
